5 Favorite Fitness Experts You Should Follow

The fitness industry is inundated with misinformation and bogus claims.  Sometimes this makes educating yourself towards true fitness a daunting task.  I’ve been doing a lot of reading this past year and here are a few fitness, strength and conditioning experts that have time and time again raised the bar and demonstrated empowering fitness knowledge and critical thought.  This list is by no means exhaustive, but I hope it will be a good starting point for some of you.

Bret Contreras

The Glute Man, Bret Contreras has continued to change the game by innovating exercises to help strengthen your butt as well as provide valuable insight for trainers and those entering the fitness industry.  He approaches his work and writing based on heavy research and is able to synthesize it in a way that is easily understood.  He has a great sense of humor too!

Alwyn Cosgrove

Co-author of New Rules of Lifting, Alwin Cosgrove is my favorite writer when it comes to the fundamentals of fitness.  He has been able to break down seemingly complex subjects such a fat loss, metabolism and the basic movements for functional fitness.

Steve Kamb

Okay, I had to put Steve on the list because this guy is pretty awesome!  I mean come on, his last post was “A Hobbit’s Guide to Walking”!  Steve approaches fitness from a very unique perspective (Nerds Unite!) and not surprisingly he connects to a lot of people seeking to live healthier in fun and creative ways.  Check out how to “level up” your fitness at his website NerdFitness.com.

Lisa Johnson

Lisa Johnson is a great writer and trainer.  She has a mix of both fun and serious articles and they are usually up to date – focusing on important issues going on with health and fitness.  Lastly, I appreciate her voice as she provides critical, realistic yet optimistic insight into health and fitness knowledge that is truly self-empowering.

Ross Enamait

Many of you may already be following RossTraining.com, but just in case, Ross Enamait is my go to expert on home gym workouts and do-it-yourself home gym equipment.  He has tons of videos of home workouts, making workout equipment and he takes his training very seriously to help prepare his fighters and athletes.

So these are some of my favorites.

I’d love to hear some of yours!  Who would you add onto this list?
