Kickboxing For Rural Kids: A Movemo and Men of Elegance Fundraiser

Kickboxing For Rural Kids: A Movemo and Men of Elegance Fundraiser

Earlier this month marked my 27th birthday and instead of some crazy big party I thought, how about I share the gift of fitness with my friends and family for a good cause.  So with the help of some friends from the Men of Elegance, we set up a fundraising event  for every Saturday this month where I taught kickboxing and strength conditioning classes for co-workers, friends and families.  With the help of another friend at JKM Fitness Studio, I was able to rent out the space at a small cost and all the profit from the classes went straight to The Advancement for Rural Kids in the Philippines, a start-up nonprofit directed by a friend of mine.

So after a few Saturdays of teaching one hour kickboxing classes we were able to fund raise over $500 while raising the fitness levels of 60+ co-workers and friends who aim to make a social and positive impact in the world.  I can’t think of any better birthday gift I’ve ever received than this.  Thanks to all those that came out and supported!
